Abstract

NUREG-1022, “Event Reporting Guidelines: 10 CFR 50.72 and 10 CFR 50.73,” contains guidelines that the staff of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) considers acceptable for use in meeting the requirements of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) 50.72, “Immediate notification requirements for operating nuclear power reactors,” and 10 CFR 50.73, “License event report system.” Revision 4 to NUREG-1022 incorporates proposed changes to 10 CFR 50.72 and revises the event reporting guidelines to clarify guidance. In updating the guidance, the NRC considered the provisions of the rule itself, the associated final rule preambles, and other available guidance, in that order.
