NRC TO HOLD 2 MEETINGS ON JULY 15 REGARDING MILLSTONE PLANT

Nuclear Regulatory Commission staff will hold two meetings on Thursday, July 15, to discuss the status of improvement efforts at the Millstone nuclear power plant in Waterford, Conn. Specifically, the meetings will focus on the Safety Conscious Work Environment and Employee Concerns programs at the plant, which is operated by Northeast Utilities (NU).

The first meeting, between NRC staff and NU, will begin at 1 p.m. in the Leland F. Sillin Jr. Training Center, located near the entrance to the plant. At that session, an NRC team will present the results of its latest inspections of the programs. The meeting is open for public observation.

At 7:30 p.m. at Waterford Town Hall, there will be a joint meeting of NRC staff and Connecticut's Nuclear Energy Advisory Council to discuss the programs. Public comments will be accepted during that session. The Town Hall is located at 15 Rope Ferry Road.
