NOTE TO EDITORS:

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission's Special Projects Office has scheduled four meetings on Millstone Station in Waterford, CT:

On Tuesday, September 2, at 1 p.m., the office staff will meet with Northeast Utilities (NU) officials to discuss the prerequisites that must be met before the NRC will conduct an Operational Safety Team Inspection at Millstone.

On Wednesday, September 3, at 10:30 a.m., the staff will meet with Sargent and Lundy and NU officials to discuss the schedule for the Millstone 3 Independent Corrective Action Verification Program.

On Thursday, September 4, at 9:00 a.m., the staff will meet with NU and Little Harbor Consultants' officials to discuss the utility's activities in response to Little Harbor's recommendations concerning the NU employee concerns program.

At 6:00 p.m., on Monday, September 8, the staff will conduct an exit meeting to discuss the NRC evaluation of the Millstone Unit 1 emergency response exercise and the Millstone emergency preparedness assessment.

All of the meetings are open to the public for observation only, and will be held at the Leland F. Sillin Training Center at the Millstone site.
