NRC COMMISSIONER NILS DIAZ TO HOLD NEWS BRIEFING AUG. 12
FOLLOWING VISIT TO DRESDEN NUCLEAR POWER STATION
Commissioner Nil J. Diaz of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission will hold a briefing for news media representatives on Tuesday, August 12, following his visit to the Dresden Nuclear Power Station near Morris, Illinois.
The news briefing will be at 1:30 p.m. in the Training Facility at the Dresden Nuclear Power Station. The plant is located on Dresden Road north of Lorenzo Road in Grundy County, Illinois.
During his visit to the Dresden Station, Commissioner Diaz will meet with NRC regional staff members and the NRC resident inspectors, meet with plant management and staff, and tour the facility.
Dr. Diaz has been a member of the Commission since August of last year. He previously was a professor of nuclear engineering at the University of Florida and director of the Innovative Nuclear Space Power and Propulsion Institute, a national consortium of universities and industry.
