NOTE TO EDITORS:

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission staff will meet with the public on Wednesday evening, January 15, to discuss the decommissioning of the Haddam Neck nuclear power plant. The meeting, which begins at 7 p.m., will be held in the Haddam Killingworth High School cafeteria. It will be chaired by Marjorie DeBold, First Selectman of the Town of Haddam.

The agenda includes a presentation by the licensee, Northeast Utilities, describing its plans to decommission the plant, followed by an NRC presentation on decommissioning regulations and future plant oversight. The public will have an opportunity to question both the licensee and the NRC staff.
