Information Notice No. 81-39: EPA CROSSCHECK PROGRAM - LOW LEVEL
RADIOIODINE IN WATER INTERCOMPARISON
STUDY
Description of Circumstances:
During the last week of January, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA),
in cooperation with NRC, is planning to distribute test samples of low level
radio-iodine in water (<10 pCi/1) through the EPA Environmental
Radioactivity Laboratory Intercomparison Studies Program (Crosscheck
Program). This test will enable the user laboratory to verify its
capability to quantitatively detect low levels of radioiodine in water by
radiochemical techniques. Licensee laboratories interested in participating
in the test can call or write:
U.S. Environmental Protection Agency
Environmental Monitoring Systems Laboratory
P.O. Box 15027 Las Vegas, NV 89114
