RE:  Update on SYLGARD (Registered Trademark) 170 Silicone Elastomer,
     SYLGARD (Registered Trademark) 170 Silicone Fast Cure Elastomer, and
     DOW CORNING (Registered Trademark) 96-081 RTV Adhesive/Sealant

Dear Sir or Madam:

This letter is an update on the status of testing at Underwriters
Laboratories on DOW CORNING (Registered Trademark) 96-081 RTV
Adhesive/Sealant and SYLGARD (Registered Trademark) 170 Silicone
Elastomer.  On Tuesday, April 4, actual fire testing of the materials
began.  Testing will conclude May 5, 1995.  A final report will be issued
at the end of May.  While results to date do not indicate any difference
in performance, it is still too early in the testing to draw any final
conclusions.

We will send our next update to you when the final report from
Underwriters Laboratories is issued.  If you have questions prior to
