Discussion:

On January 30, 2008, at 12:30 pm, Constellation Energy personnel declared an Unusual Event at the R.E. Ginna Nuclear Power Plant due to the loss of offsite communications which was described in Preliminary Notification PNO-I-08-002. At 8:15 pm, Constellation Energy personnel exited the Unusual Event after offsite communications were restored, with the exception of the Radiological Emergency Communications System (RECS) line. Backup communications for the RECS line were put in place and the backup generator for phone communications was repaired and verified as reliable again. This morning report is written to supplement PNO-I-08-002.
