NRC Information Notice 2001-05:Through-Wall Circumferential Cracking of
Reactor Pressure Vessel Head Control Rod Drive Mechanism Penetration
Nozzles at Oconee Nuclear Station, Unit 3, dated April 30, 2001

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission is issuing this information notice
to alert addressees to the recent detection of through-wall
circumferential cracks in two of the control rod drive mechanism (CRDM)
penetration nozzles and weldments at the Oconee Nuclear Station, Unit 3
(ONS3).
