Subject: Completion of Unit 1 Refueling Outage
Discussion:
Friday morning, December 10, 1999, the licensee connected the main
turbine- generator to the offsite electrical distribution grid, ending
the Unit 1, cycle 25 refueling outage. Major work completed during the
outage included modifications to the safety- related service water system
and to the reactor cavity drain barrel, replacement of the B train
reactor coolant pump motor, loading of the Unit's first 18-month core,
and maintenance on safety-related electrical buses. The outage, which was
originally scheduled for 44 days, was completed in 56 days. Much of the
extension in duration was for the repair of emergent equipment problems
identified during pre-startup testing.
Regional Action:
The resident inspectors observed startup activities. No significant
problems were identified
