Subject: LASALLE UNIT 1 RESTART FROM PLANNED REFUELING OUTAGE

Discussion:

On November 22, 1999, at 7:07 a.m. (CST), LaSalle County Station
operations personnel synchronized the Unit 1 main turbine generator to
the grid completing Refueling Outage 8 (RFO-8). Major activities, in
addition to refueling the reactor, completed during this 29-day outage
included: 1) Noble Metals Chemical Addition; 2) Modification of Jet Pumps
9 and 10 to Replace the Inlet Mixers; 3) 1A and 1B Reactor Recirculation
Pump Seal Replacements; 4) 1B Reactor Recirculation Pump Suction Valve
Overhaul; and 5) Condenser Chemical Cleaning and Eddy Current Testing.

Regional Action:

Resident inspectors observed portions of plant outage and restart
activities, and will continue to monitor power ascension.
