This notice is being issued to all industrial radiography licensees to remind them of the effective date for the radiographer certification requirement, respond to industry concerns about not being able to meet the deadline, and advise recipients of Commission plans for enforcement action to address failures to meet the deadline. The certification deadline is June 27, 1999. The Commission intends to exercise enforcement discretion to extend the deadline. Contacts: J. The guard contacted the Weld County Sheriff Department via 911. A representative from the County Sherrif Department responded and placed the female into protective custody. The assailant was never seen at the security facility by the guards. The guard said the female appeared to have been drinking and had visible indications of an assault (scratches, bruises). Regional Action: DNMS/FCDB contacted the DOE Idaho Program Manager for the Ft. St. Vrain ISFSI and discussed the incident. The Program Manager said the County Sheriff's Department had taken the female into protective custody, had impounded her car, but had not taken the alleged assailant into custody as of 0900 this morning.
