Subject: MANAGEMENT CHANGES

Discussion:

Carolina Power & Light (CP&L) announced on April 9, 1999, that Chris
Burton will become the new director of site operations for the Harris
Plant effective April 19, 1999, filling the position which had previously
been vacant. Cris Burton had been serving as acting plant manager at
Sequoyah Plant since February, 1999. Previously he was Engineering and
Support Services Manager at Sequoyah since 1997. He spent 22 years with
Florida Power & Light where he held numerous management positions.
