SUBJECT: REVISION TO SECTION 9.5.1, "FIRE PROTECTION PROGRAM," OF THE STANDARD REVIEW PLAN

During the 504th meeting of the Advisory Committee on Reactor Safeguards, July 9-11, 2003, the Committee considered a revision to Section 9.5.1, "Fire Protection Program," of the Standard Review Plan, NUREG-0800 and its associated Branch Technical Position. The NRC staff advises us that the revision was based on information gathered during the development of Regulatory Guide 1.189, "Fire Protection for Operating Nuclear Power Plants." The Committee has decided not to review the subject document.
