Environmental Impact Statement

NUREG-1437, "Generic Environmental Impact Statement for License Renewal of Nuclear Plants Regarding Three Mile Island Nuclear Station, Unit 1 (NUREG-1437, Supplement 37) Final Report," was published in June 2009. This supplement documents the NRC staff's review of the environmental issues at Three Mile Island Nuclear Station, Unit 1, regarding the Exelon Generation Company, LLC application for license renewal of that facility. The supplement was prepared in accordance with 10 CFR 51.71. This supplemental environmental impact statement includes the Staff's analysis that considers and weighs the environmental effects of the proposed action (license renewal), the environmental impacts of alternatives to the proposed action, and potential mitigative measures for reducing or avoiding adverse impacts. It also includes the Staff's recommendation regarding the proposed action.

Safety Evaluation Report

The NRC staff reviewed the Three Mile Island Nuclear Station Unit 1 license renewal application for compliance with the requirements of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Part 54, "Requirements for Renewal of Operating Licenses for Nuclear Power Plants," and prepared this report to document its preliminary findings. The document was issued on March 13, 2009, as "Safety Evaluation Report With Open Items Related to the License Renewal of Three Mile Island Nuclear Station Unit 1." Subsequently, on June 30, 2009 the document "Safety Evaluation Report Related to the License Renewal of Three Mile Island Nuclear Station Unit 1" was issued.

In October 2009, the report "Safety Evaluation Report Related to the License Renewal of Three Mile Island Nuclear Station, Unit 1" was issued as NUREG-1928.
