Environmental Review

NUREG-1437, "Site-Specific Environmental Impact Statement for License Renewal of Nuclear Plants," Supplemental 26, Second Renewal, Regarding Subsequent License Renewal for Monticello Nuclear Generating Nuclear Plant, Unit 1, was published April 24, 2024. This supplement documents the NRC staff's review of the environmental issues at the Monticello Nuclear Generating Plant, Unit 1 in support of its subsequent license renewal application of that facility. This draft environmental impact statement includes the staff's analysis that considers and weighs the environmental effects of the proposed action, the environmental impacts of alternatives to the proposed action, and alternatives available for reducing or avoiding adverse impacts. It also includes the staff's recommendation regarding the proposed action.

Safety Evaluation

The NRC staff reviewed the Monticello Nuclear Generating Plant, Unit 1, subsequent license renewal application for compliance with the requirements of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Part 54, "Requirements for Renewal of Operating Licenses for Nuclear Power Plants" and prepared a safety evaluation to document its findings. The "Safety Evaluation to the SLRA of Monticello Nuclear Generating Plant, Unit 1" was issued on March 18, 2024.
