Issued Combined Licenses and Limited Work Authorizations for Vogtle, Units 3 and 4

On March 28, 2008, Southern Nuclear Operating Company (SNC) submitted its application for combined licenses for two AP1000 advanced passive pressurized-water reactors for Vogtle Electric Generating Plant (VEGP) Units 3 and 4. On October 22, 2009, SNC supplemented its COL application by requesting a limited work authorization request for approval to perform selected construction activities. These activities include:

  • Installation of reinforcing steel, sumps and drain lines and other embedded items in the Nuclear Island (NI) foundation base slab.
  • Placement of concrete for the NI foundation base slab.

Application Information

The following table provides access to the COL Application that SNC submitted for Vogtle, Units 3 and 4.

Some combined license applications were submitted with hyperlinks to various reference documents. Currently, the hyperlinks in those applications are not active. These hyperlinks represent an advanced feature that could be activated when the agency upgrades to web-based ADAMS, at which point these applications and documents such as the Final Safety Analysis Report and associated Technical/Topical Reports would be linked together. In the interim, and for those applications that do not have the hyperlink feature, the reference documents may be viewed under the Reference Documents section of the combined license application page. In addition, DVDs of the various documents are available by contacting the Public Document Room staff.
