Pre-Submittal meeting for Duke Fleet plants McGuire and Catawba proposed Alternative Source Term (AST) Licensee Amendment Request

The purpose of the meeting is to discuss with Duke Energy Carolinas, LLC (Duke Energy) proposed future McGuire, Units 1 and 2; and Catawba, Units 1 and 2; LARs which propose to update their alternative source terms to reflect methodology in Draft Regulatory Guidance (DG) DG-1425, July 2026, “Alternative Radiological Source Terms for Evaluating Design-Basis Accidents at Nuclear Power Reactors,” (Proposed Revision 2 to Regulatory Guide 1.183) to support future operation of fuel with higher burnup and enrichment values.
