Monticello and Prairie Island Pre-Application Meeting to Adopt NEI 99 Rev. 7 Emergency Action Level Scheme Transition Discussion

The purpose of this meeting is to discuss Xcel Energy’s plan to submit a proposed license amendment request for the Prairie Island and Monticello plants. The request seeks to revise the currently approved Emergency Plan Emergency Action Level (EAL) scheme, which is based on the guidance in Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) 99‑01, Development of Emergency Action Levels for Non‑Passive Reactors, Revision 6 (November 2012). Xcel Energy intends to transition to the updated guidance established in NEI 99‑01, Revision 7 (September 2024).
