The NRC is sponsoring public workshops on the Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) Licensing Framework for Advanced Reactors. The workshops are part of the agency’s efforts to streamline safety reviews of future license applications. This workshop will be a continuation of topics covered in the workshop held on February 23, 2023, and March 16, 2023, and specifically discuss industry perspectives on the use of alternative international I&C safety standards and I&C consensus codes and standards. The workshop will continue discussions of implementation of the Licensing Modernization Project (LMP) and the I&C Design Review Guide (DRG) and areas of interest to NRC staff to improve planning and effectiveness of future I&C reviews.
