Purpose
The seventh NRC AI Workshop provides an update on the agency’s AI maturity journey, regulatory readiness plans, and external innovations driving the nuclear enterprise. This year’s workshop will feature real-world internal use cases and demonstrations that streamline agency operations alongside progress updates on AI regulatory considerations and research activities. Bringing together diverse perspectives from licensees, reactor developers, academia, and research organizations, this event bridges regulatory modernization with technical breakthroughs to explore safe, transparent, and efficient AI deployment across the nuclear sector. Building on the foundation established in prior workshops, this meeting will continue the dialogue around regulatory and technical considerations for AI use in nuclear applications. The workshop aims to support shared understanding and solicit feedback to inform future regulatory approaches as AI continues to evolve within the nuclear landscape.
