Thomas Wellock is the Historian of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). He earned a Ph.D. in history from the University of California, Berkeley and published two books, Critical Masses: Opposition to Nuclear Power in California, 1958–78 and Preserving the Nation: The Conservation and Environmental Movements, 1870-2000. Previously, he was a professor of history at Central Washington University (1997-2010). He also worked as a systems engineer at the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station and as a reactor test engineer for General Dynamics Corporation. He has authored numerous scholarly articles, blogs, and video histories on the NRC and nuclear power.
