Sabrina Atack

Ms. Atack began her career with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) in2006 as a Reactor Systems Engineer in the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation(NRR). Since that time, she has served in a number of progressively more responsible positions, including: vendor inspector and technical reviewer for new reactors in the Office of New Reactors, Team Leader in the Division of Fuel Cycle Safety, Safeguards and Environmental Review in the Office of Nuclear Material Safety and Safeguards (NMSS), and Chief of the Source Management and Protection Branch in the Division of Nuclear Materials Safety, Security, State, and Tribal Programs in NMSS.

Since joining the Senior Executive Service (SES) in 2019, she served as the Deputy Director, Division of Security Operations (DSO), Office of Nuclear Security and Incident Response (NSIR), Director DSO/NSIR, acting Director, Division of Physical and Cyber Security Policy, NSIR and acting Director, Division of Reactor Safety (DRS), Region III.

Before joining the NRC, Ms. Atack worked for the Department of Defense at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in physics and a master’s degree in Nuclear Engineering.
