Raymond Lorson

Mr. Lorson joined the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) in 1991 as a Reactor Engineer in Region I. He subsequently was the Resident Inspector at the Peach Bottom and the Salem Nuclear Power Plants, and the Senior Resident Inspector at the Seabrook and the Salem Nuclear Power Plants. Mr. Lorson has also held several Branch Chief positions in Region I including the Performance Engineering and Plant Support Branch in the Division of Reactor Safety, and the Decommissioning Branch in the Division of Nuclear Materials Safety (DNMS). Since joining the Senior Executive Service (SES) in 2009, Mr. Lorson has served in several of senior management positions, including Deputy Director, Technical Review Directorate, Office of Nuclear Material Safety and Safeguards; Director, DNMS, Region I; Director, Division of Reactor Safety, Region I, and Director, Division of Reactor Projects, Region I. Prior to joining the NRC, he served in the U.S. Navy.

Mr. Lorson received a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh and is a graduate of the NRC's SES Candidate Development Program.
