Joseph Donoghue

Joseph E. Donoghue serves as Director, Division Safety Systems, Office Nuclear Reactor Regulation (NRR).

Joe joined the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) in 1991 as a Reactor System Engineer in NRR. He served in a number of progressively responsible positions within the operating reactor and new reactor programs, including Technical Reviewer, Senior Project Manager, Branch Chief, and Deputy Division Director (most recently in the Division of Materials and License Renewal, NRR).

Before joining the NRC, Mr. Donoghue served for over six years in the U.S. Navy.
