Purpose
The purpose of this meeting is to present the published proposed rule related to streamlining Atomic Safety and Licensing Board adjudicatory hearings on most license applications, including new reactors and reactor license renewals. This rule is part of broader reforms from Executive Order 14300 aimed at increasing U.S. nuclear capacity and to reestablish the United States as the global leader in nuclear energy. EO 14300 directs the NRC to complete licensing actions within 12 to 18 months, or faster. The NRC is not actively soliciting comments towards regulatory decisions at this meeting.

The NRC provides reasonable accommodation to individuals with disabilities where appropriate. If reasonable accommodation is needed to participate in this meeting, or if a meeting notice, transcript, or other information from this meeting is needed in another format (e.g., Braille, large print), please notify the NRC meeting contact. Determinations on requests for reasonable accommodation will be made on a case-by-case basis. Because meetings are sometimes canceled or rescheduled as a result of unforeseen circumstances such as severe weather, confirm the meeting schedule by checking the Public Meeting Schedule or communicating with the meeting contact. Topic times are estimated and, depending on the participation level, the meeting could adjourn earlier than expected.
