Project Overview
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is currently engaged in pre-application activities with AtkinsRéalis regarding a design certification application for the Enhanced CANDU 6 (EC6). The EC6 is a Generation III+, 700 MWe class heavy-water moderated and cooled pressure tube reactor that builds on decades of successful commercial CANDU deployment with natural uranium fuel.
