BOTH HOPE CREEK AND SALEM LOST ALL METEOROLOGICAL CAPABILITY

This notification is for both Hope Creek and Salem stations pursuant to 10CFR50.72(b)(3)(xiii) as a major loss of emergency assessment capability, offsite response capability, or offsite communication capability; specifically, the loss of all meteorological data for Hope Creek and Salem stations. Meteorological data is supplied to both stations via a common communications lank. Data is transmitted to Hope Creek then relayed to Salem. The problem in the communication link has been isolated to a faulty computer, which supplies Hope Creek with data. Troubleshooting and repairs are in progress; a projected availability time is not yet available.

The NRC Resident Inspector was notified.
