Vermont: Agreement State Information
Vermont is an Agreement State. No nuclear fuel cycle facilities are located in Vermont. The state has jurisdiction over x-ray equipment, naturally occurring radioactive materials, and certain radioactive materials that are not produced in a reactor.
On July 6, 2015, the Governor of Vermont submitted a letter of intent to the NRC Chairman to pursue an agreement with the NRC. On September 13, 2019, the agreement was signed, and the state assumed regulatory authority on September 30.
The NRC's Regional Office in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, (Region I) is responsible for carrying out the Agency's duties in Vermont.
