Office of Advanced Reactors

The Office of Advanced Reactors (OAR) will be established to promote the expeditious review of advanced reactor applications and facilitate deployment of innovative technology, enabling the agency to maintain its safety focus on the existing reactors through NRR and CNRI. OAR will be the program office for construction inspection, leveraging reactor inspection resources in CNRI. Licensing and oversight of a new reactor will transition to NRR and CNRI, respectively, upon commencing commercial operation.
