Office of Nuclear Material Safety and Safeguards

The Office of Nuclear Material Safety and Safeguards (NMSS) Business lines will house their own inspection, licensing, and program functions. Regional branches performing functions under these business lines will report to NMSS. The NMSS oversight structure will be similar to the CNRI model, but housed within the same office. The Rulemaking and Financial Centers of Expertise will continue to be housed in NMSS. The staff performing environmental reviews will be reassigned to NRR, NMSS, and OAR based on the BL they support.
