ROCKVILLE, Md. —The Nuclear Regulatory Commission will hold a mandatory hearing Sept. 17 in Danbury, North Carolina, on its review of Duke Energy Carolinas’ application for an early site permit at the Belews Creek site as part of the agency’s review to determine whether the site is suitable for potential future nuclear reactors.
What: NRC staff will discuss the agency’s safety and environmental reviews, answer questions and receive public comments. An open house will be held before the hearing.
