Actions in Response to the Japan Nuclear Accident: Next Steps

Over the next few months, the NRC expects to take the following actions:

Following the close of the public comment period on the advance notice of proposed rulemaking for station blackout regulatory actions (May 4, 2012), the NRC is currently evaluating all public comments received.
In November 2012, the NRC staff plans to issue guidance to enable U.S. nuclear power plants to perform the seismic and flooding reevaluations.

NRC expects to take the following actions over the next few months
