T6 Regulatory Impacts of International Operating Experience
The sharing of operating experience, lessons learned, and use of safety‑significant experience among regulators and utilities is essential for the continued safe operation of the world’s nuclear power plants. This session will address uses of safety‑significant operating experience from several of the NRC’s international regulatory counterparts and will focus on how other countries have applied the lessons learned to enhance their nuclear safety and regulation. This exchange of safety and regulatory decisions based upon operating experience will allow the NRC, other regulators, and the nuclear industry to gain a better understanding of how members of the international community have incorporated operating experience into their decisions.
