Past Workshop Information

On June 17-18, 2003, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and the U.S., Department of Homeland Security (DHS) jointly sponsored a State Homeland Security Workshop at the U.S. NRC Headquarters in Rockville, MD. The purpose of this Workshop was to strengthen the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) linkages with the State Homeland Security Advisors, State Liaison Officers, and the State emergency response and preparedness representatives and to make these representatives aware of the DHS and NRC homeland security, incident response, and other significant agency initiatives.


The target audience was State representatives including the State Homeland Security Advisors (SHSAs), State Liaison Officers (SLOs), State Radiation Control Program Directors (RCPDs), and federal agencies. The Workshop was attended by 218 federal and state representatives. Below illustrates the representation of each of the attendance types.
