Stephen Cowne

Steve Cowne has over 30 years in the nuclear industry.  He is currently the Chief Nuclear Officer for Urenco USA, also known as LES.  Urenco USA owns and operates the National Enrichment Facility in southeast New Mexico.  Steve is a former Head of Operations and Compliance Manager and has been at the facility since construction.  He has 14 years with LES.  Prior to LES, Steve worked for the United States Enrichment Corporation at the Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant for 11 years.  He started his civilian career with Constellation Energy at the Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant for 12 years in various positions.  Steve graduated from Virginia Tech and served five years active duty in the U.S. Navy as a nuclear propulsion officer.
