Kirk Foggie
Mr. Foggie joined the NRC in 2002 as International Relations Specialist. He worked mostly in the Office of International Programs until accepting a position in the Office of New Reactors in 2014 as the Technical Assistant for International Activities. He currently is the Branch Chief for the Reactor Program Services Branch II in the Division or Resource Management and Administration (DRMA) in the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation. His previous positions at the NRC include acting division director, technical assistant for international activities, international relations officer for international activities with Japan and Vietnam, and various other Southeast Asian countries. His primary responsibilities included coordinating cooperative efforts with countries that the NRC has legally binding relationships. During the NRC’s Fukushima response, Mr. Foggie was part of the original team deployed to Japan. Throughout his NRC career Mr. Foggie has expanded his knowledge of the agency through multiple rotations and details which include the Office of Nuclear Security and Incident Response, the Office of Human Resources, and the Office of the Executive Director for Operations. Prior to joining the NRC, Mr. Foggie was a Registered Representative at John Hancock Financial Services in the area of financial planning and insurance. Mr. Foggie graduated from the University of Maryland at College Park, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics, and a Master of Science degree in Public Relations from the University of Maryland University College.
