Shuichi Kaneko

After the TEPCO Fukushima Daiichi NPS accident, Mr. Kaneko took the role to coordinate governmental counter measure actions at the Crisis Management Center in the Prime Minister's Office. He also participated in the preparation to establish the new nuclear regulatory body in Japan, which is now the Nuclear Regulation Authority, Japan. Currently, he is supervising nuclear oversight program, international affairs, and Fukushima Daiichi regulations in the NRA. Before focusing on nuclear safety, he has experienced variety of policy such as R&D promotion in material and machinery engineering, information technology, space engineering and so on, revitalization of local economy, human resource development, and police management.

He has two master degrees: Inorganic Material Engineering, and Community and Regional Planning.
