Joseph Anderson

Mr. Anderson is a Branch Chief for the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) in the Office of Nuclear Security and Incident Response, Division of Preparedness and Response, located in Rockville, Maryland. Mr. Anderson has over 35 years of experience in the area of emergency preparedness for commercial nuclear power reactors. Currently, as the Chief of the Reactor Licensing Branch, he is responsible for the technical review of proposed changes to emergency plans and preparedness for commercial power reactors, research and test reactors, spent fuel storage facilities, and fuel fabrication facilities. Mr. Anderson has been with NRC since 2003. Prior to joining the NRC, Mr. Anderson served for over 20 years in the commercial nuclear power industry as the Mid-Atlantic Regional Emergency Preparedness Programs Coordinator for Exelon Nuclear, the Site Emergency Preparedness Manager at the Quad Cities Nuclear Generating Station, and the Site Emergency Preparedness Coordinator at the Perry Nuclear Power Plant. Mr. Anderson is also a veteran of the U.S. Naval Nuclear Power Program.
