Chul Hwan Jung

Chul Hwan Jung joined the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission in 2009.  As a Technical Specialist at the CNSC, he leads regulatory activities in the area of cyber security for nuclear power plants and other nuclear facilities.  He has contributed to the developments of national and international standards (CSA, IEC 45A) and IAEA Security Series to strengthen cyber security in the nuclear industry nationally and internationally.

Mr. Jung has over 30 years experience in the nuclear industry with expertise in computer-based safety and control systems, and cyber security.  He has in-depth knowledge and experience in all phases of safety Instrumentation & Control (I&C) system life cycle.

Before joining the CNSC, he served with Atomic Energy Canada Limited, and led engineering and research projects in the area of nuclear I&C.  He holds a Ph.D. in Electronics Engineering from Kyungbook National University.
