Ho Nieh

Mr. Nieh is a current member of the Senior Executive Service who returned to the NRC from the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, where he served as the Director, Division of Nuclear Safety Technology and Regulation at the Nuclear Energy Agency. Mr. Nieh began his NRC career in 1997 as an engineer in Region I, joining the agency after serving in various engineering positions at the Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory. At the NRC, Mr. Nieh went on to serve as a resident and senior resident inspector, before joining the newly created Office of Nuclear Security and Incident Response in 2003. He has also served in various management positions in NRR, including Director, Division of Inspection and Regional Support, and Director, Division of Reactor Projects. Additionally, Mr. Nieh was posted to the International Atomic Energy Agency, Department of Nuclear Safety and Security, and served as Chief of Staff to former Commissioner Bill Ostendorff. Mr. Nieh is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Nuclear Power School and holds a bachelor of engineering in marine engineering from the State University of New York Maritime College and a master of business administration from Johns Hopkins University.
