Since May 2017, Dr. Kevin Hsueh has served as the Chief, Radiation Protection and Consequence Branch, Division of Risk Assessment, Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation (NRR). Dr. Hsueh joined the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) in 1998 as a health physicist in the former Office of State and Tribal Programs. He has since held progressively more responsible positions, including Chief, Rulemaking Branch A in the former Office of Federal and State Materials and Environmental Management Programs (FSME); Chief, Environmental Review Branch in FSME; Chief, Research and Test Reactors Oversight Branch in NRR; and Chief, Licensing Processes Branch, in NRR. Dr. Hsueh holds a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Science degree in nuclear engineering from the National Tsing Hua University, Taiwan, and a Ph.D. degree in nuclear engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Dr. Hsueh is a certified health physicist by the American Board of Health Physics.
