United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission - Protecting People and the Environment

T. Preston Gillespie, Jr.

Preston Gillespie is senior vice president and chief nuclear officer for Duke Energy, responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the nation's largest regulated nuclear generating fleet.

A native of Charleston, S.C., Gillespie earned a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Clemson University.  He is a graduate of Wharton's Advanced Management Program and is a registered professional engineer in South Carolina.  Gillespie held a senior reactor operator licence from the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission for Oconee Nuclear Station.
