Andrew Proffitt

Andrew Proffitt is a Project Manager in the Division of Licensing Projects in the NRC's Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation.

He is responsible for managing the NRC's preparations to license accident tolerant fuel (ATF) including the coordination of NRC's ATF steering committee and working group, the development and implementation of the NRC's ATF project plan, and as a liason to external stakeholders including the U.S. Department of Energy, industry organizations, and the international community.  He has also worked at the NRC as a Reactor Systems Engineer specializing in the in-reactor use of nuclear fuel and as Technical Assistant in the Japan Lessons-Learned Division.  Andrew holds a bachelor's degree in nuclear engineering from the University of Tennessee.
