Travis Tate

Mr. Travis Tate currently serves as Chief, Criticality, Shielding, and Risk Assessment Branch (CSRAB) in the Division of Spent Fuel Management, NMSS.  Mr. Tate joined the NRC in 2001 as a Project Manager in NRR.  He has held a number of progressively responsible positions including Technical Assistant, Division of Component Integrity, NRR, and Technical Assistant to the Associate Director for Engineering and Safety Systems, NRR.  Mr. Tate most recently served as Chief, Plant Licensing Branch I–1, NRR, since September 2013, and before that served as Chief, Accident Dose Branch, NRR, and Chief, Program Operations Branch, NRR.

Before joining the NRC, Mr. Tate was employed as a staff nuclear engineer with Science Applications International Corporation in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.  He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in nuclear engineering from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.  Mr. Tate is a graduate of the NRC Leadership Potential Program.
