Angela Buford, Structural Engineer, Division of Engineering, NRR/NRC

Ms. Angela Buford (Struct. Eng. M.Sc., PE) is a Structural Engineer in the NRC Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation.  She has over 13 years of experience in the field of structural engineering, 8 of which are with the NRC.  Ms. Buford is a technical reviewer in the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation, Division of Engineering, and is responsible for performing licensing reviews for both operating reactors and license renewal applications.  Much of her work as a technical reviewer is focused on assessment of aging effects of nuclear power plant structures and structural performance, and she is the NRR lead for consideration of radiation effects on concrete structures for subsequent license renewal.  Ms. Buford also performs NRC Regional inspections in both operating reactors and new construction programs and represents the NRC at an IAEA international working group on aging management of concrete structures.
