Shirong Zhou

Mr. Zhou Shirong is currently serving as Deputy Director General of the Department of Nuclear Electricity Safety Supervision of the Ministry of Environmental Protection (MEP) of China.  Mr. Zhou obtained his Ph.D. degree from the Research Laboratory for Nuclear Reactors of Tokyo Institute of Technology in Japan.  He has worked for MEP since 1999, holding progressively senior positions.  Mr. Zhou has vast experience in nuclear engineering and safety, two-phase flow and heat transfer, nuclear and radiation safety review and supervision, and has published over 70 papers through international and national academic journals.  Mr. Zhou has made important academic achievements in various areas including nuclear reactor engineering. nuclear and radiation safety management and research.
