Nebojsa Orbovic

Neb Orbovic got in 1990 his Dipl. Ing. (MSc) in Structural Engineering at the University of Belgrade, Serbia. He began his carrier the same year at INGEROP, a French consulting company based in Courbevoie, Paris region, and worked as a designer on large infrastructure projects as the bridges of High Speed Railway (TGV Brussels-Marseilles) and the access viaducts of Paris airport Charles de Gaulle. In 1996 he joined IRSN, Paris region, and worked until 2004 as a civil/seismic expert on the review of the submissions related to the seismic design and assessment of a wide range of nuclear facilities. In 2004 He moved to Canada and joined Atomic Energy of Canada Limited working on the design of ACR700 and ACR1000 Nuclear Power Plants. In 2008 Neb joined the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission occupying the postilion of a Technical Specialist dealing with Civil Structures and External Hazards.//Neb is licensed engineer in Canadian provinces of Ontario and Quebec and voting member of ACI 349 Committee for Nuclear Safety Related Concrete Structures and ASME Section III Division 2 for Concrete Containments. He is a member of American Society of Civil Engineers and Earthquake Engineering Research Institute. Neb is the Chair OECD/NEA/CSNI WG IAGE  Subgroup on Seismic Behavior of Components and Structures and active contributor to IAEA External Events Safety Section.
