Yann Le Pape

Yann Le Pape (Civ. Eng. Ph.D., Struc. Eng. M.Sc.) is a Senior Scientist working for Oak Ridge National Laboratory. He works primarily on the degradation of cementitious materials and concrete leading the research effort on concrete for the DOE NE Light Water Reactor Sustainability Program. He has over 15 years of professional experience spent in several institutions: the European Commission Joint Research Center (Ispra), EDF R&D, the Electric Power Research Institute and since 2013, ORNL. His research interests encompass the understanding and modeling of chemical, irradiation and mechanical damage in composite materials, non-destructive evaluation and structural simulation of large-scale concrete structures. He is currently the Chair of the International Committee on Irradiated Concrete and the Secretary of the RILEM Technical Committee on the Prognosis of deterioration and loss of serviceability in structures affected by alkali-silica reactions.
