Meena Khanna

Meena Khanna is the Chief of the Reactor Rulemaking and Project Management Branch in the Division of Rulemaking in the Office of Nuclear Material Safety and Safeguards.  Prior to this position, she held the position of Chief of the Plant Licensing IV-2 and Decommissioning Transition Branch in the Division of Operating Reactor Licensing in the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation.  Ms. Khanna previously served as the Chief of the Plant Licensing Branch 1-2, Acting Deputy Director in the Division of Policy and Rulemaking for the Research and Test Reactors, and as the Acting Deputy Assistant for Operations in the Office of the Executive Director for Operations.  Prior to this, she served as the Chief of the Mechanical and Civil Engineering Branch in the Division of Engineering in the Office of New Reactors.  Ms. Khanna began her NRC career in 1992 as a Nuclear Safety Intern in Region Ill and has held a number of progressively more responsible positions within the agency. Ms. Khanna earned a B.S. degree in Materials/Metallurgical Engineering from Purdue University and is a 2009 graduate of the Agency’s Leadership Potential Program.
